6 Wk Beginners Floristry Evening Course
Floristry for Beginners Training to professional standards
This Workshop
This course is for beginners, for those who are thinking of becoming a florist. The course will run over 6 weeks From the 19th May until 30th June with a 1 week break on the 26th June. Week One Sets the foundation for everything that follows. You'll discover the essential equipment and materials that form the backbone of floristry, and we'll walk through wiring techniques together with a focus on keeping you and your flowers safe. You'll learn how to care for your blooms so they stay fresh and vibrant, then put your new skills into practice by wiring small flowers and mastering the delicate art of taping. By the end of the session, you'll have beautifully prepared flowers ready to transform into something special next week. Week Two We'll check on those flowers you've prepared and make sure they're still in perfect condition. You'll wire some fresh blooms and foliage, then bring them together to create your first finished pieces—a gorgeous buttonhole and a corsage that you can take home with you. We'll also chat about storing these creations so they stay lovely and fresh, ready to wear or gift the next day. Week Three This is all about the joy of hand-tied bouquets. You'll learn exactly how to prepare your stems, tie your arrangement with confidence, and wrap it beautifully. We'll explore how this skill translates into the wedding world and gift bouquets, and you'll discover aqua packing—a technique that means your finished bouquet can travel safely in water, whether it's heading to a special someone or waiting for a vase at home. Week Four This Week introduces you to floral foam and the alternatives. You'll create a stunning table centre arrangement using seasonal blooms, something you'll be proud to take home and display. It's where your skills really start to shine. Week Five We'll explore foam-free floristry. Using techniques like chicken wire, moss, and jam jars, you'll create a similarly beautiful arrangement, discovering alternative methods that give you real flexibility and creativity in your designs. Week Six We come full circle. You'll revisit those wiring techniques from the very beginning and use them to create something truly magical—a floral headdress that showcases everything you've learned. It's a beautiful way to celebrate how far you've come. Included in this package, all, equipment, tools and flowers. information sheets. Please not this is not a college course and you will not be provide with a certificate.
